Tofflemire and siqveland bands arrive clean sealed inside their packets, I've never known anyone to autoclave before use but actually this would be a good idea as if you have time. The band is single-use. Scrub and autoclave the holder. These are very old-fashioned now, most dentists use a disposable holder/band all in one for class II and class III restorations (such as omnimatrix). But if my practice did buy new band holders I would autoclave them before first use.
