Ideal Pay for Dental nurse

8 years 7 months ago #6863 by dizzydanie
i've been a dental nurse now going 7years
left private practice because I was only getting 6.75 p/h moved to nhs practice and get 7.50 p/h when I no nurses who have been qualified just as long as me or few years more are on at least 9.50 p/h its not right we should all be on 10 p/h
if you can get 10-12 p/h working with an agency , i'm surprised if not all nurses leave to work with an agency just so they get what they are entitled to

You should be on 10£ minimum in my opinion for last, if you can quit and go work agency and get 12£/h and them try job. If they like you they will match it.
Also if you are looking for new job, don’t accept be paid under 10£/h go for interviews and when they say will pay 9.30£(example) just say you not interested.you want 10 at least
We need pull this all together.

Minimum you should be is 10.50£.
Go agency if you can and them get a job after many do like that, once your valour is recognize you get paid what you deserve.
The nurses need stop accepting jobs that are paid under 10£
If we all pull that together we have better chance in future get paid what we deserve.

The practice I work for (North Manchester area) pays a basic of £9.75 and gives us 25p per hour pay rise for each NEBDN qualification we hold.
It is a large (7 surgery) mixed NHS / private practice with a specialist in oral surgery. We also do implants, complex restorative and orthodontics.

The nurses here do get to use their qualifications, which is different to other practices I have worked for who neither paid extra for nor utilised the nurses hard earned skills.

P.s. Good luck with the exam.

Hi

I have been a Dental Nurse for 8 years now working in an ortho practice on the south coast.
I am currently on £8 per hour. However...
I am about to sit my Radiography exam (19/9/15), I have just completed the impression taking course and I am treatment Co-ordinator.

What would be the ideal pay for this? HELP!!!
