Sterile Pouch date stamp?

Hello Nurses!

I'm just wondering as my practice aren't making it too clear to me and it's taking up a LOT of my time.

So, as you know we have to date stamp our sterile pouches ahead of a years time following HTM01-05 Guidelines.

I'm wondering whether I can get some clarification on whether you need to write the current day and then also a date in a years time or is it ok just to write the date in a years time for when the instruments need re-sterilizing. e.g. (10/11/2017 10/11/2018) or is ok just to say (10/11/2017)

Thanks in advance
Joe
