Hi Teesey
No I don't wash my hands between each pt either ,just at the start and end of each session ,or if I have drunk coffee ( upstairs from my flask!) or I feel for some reason that I want to.the rest of the time I gel like you .
By the way could you tell me what the Karma sign and -and plus are for ,I don't have a clue.
Thank you

Hi Shiny

I don't necessarily wash my hands between each pt. but I definitely use hand gel and glove up

I forgot to mention that the most important question is .
Do you clean your hands and put on gloves before every clinical and decontamination procedure

Hi there
It's easy ,What you do is make a form with people's names on it and boxes for you to check ,and a place for a signature ,(I get them to sign )
Then you check
if people are wearing nail varnish ./nail extensions
If their nails are short and clean
If they are wearing rings / jewellery
You watch them performing the correct hand washing or hand gel routine
I do ours once a quarter .We used to do at practise meetings, which is easier than trying to catch people.
You could add your own questions to it .
Hope that helps a bit.I hope I have understood your question
An audit as I understand it ,is a sort of spot check,to see if everyone is actually doing something ,

Hi all,

I have recently signed up to do cleanliness champions and one of the units is to do a hand hygiene audit. I am really struggling to get my head around it and don't understand the use of the audit tool. I was wondering if anyone had done or is doing thios and could off some advise?

Thanks in advance!
