Apprentice nurse lone worker policy

Hi guys

Not sure if anyone can help here.

I am not sure of protocol with trainees, but I am a head nurse of a one man surgery and I am mentoring a 17 year old trainee thru her NVQ course due to finish this yr. The issue I have is that my boss is due to take time off soon and I am unsure if my trainee can be in the building on her own if the other staff are on days holidays etc. I am not sure if the lone workers policy covers a 17yr trainee or not.

perhaps someone could enlighten me or direct me to the correct area.
