Impression taking pay rise

10 years 5 months ago #5798 by whitelock
Hi, I'm afraid I haven't taken the course but I would say you are very lucky to have been offered a pay rise at all!! There are many dental nurses out there (me included!) who have 1 or more extra qualifications and it's not recognised in our wages.... :( I would take the extra 20p per hour, I'd be happy with the fact that they're willing to give a pay rise :)

I am an orthodontic nurse working in an ortho practice in the south west, myself and a couple of other ortho nurses are looking in to the impressions taking course. Fortunately our practice is willing to fund the course.

At present, our practice gives a 20p pay rise per hour once we have passed the course. On discussion we thought a more reasonable pay rise should be given, but we are unsure as to how much.

I am looking for advice from any dental nurses who have taken the course as to how much a reasonable pay rise for this course should be or how much your practice is willing to pay?

Any help would be much appreciated
:)
