Modern Apprenticeship Voided

Can anyone tell me who to contact regarding my Dental Nursing Diploma Certificate. I sat my exam and passed in Dec 2011. I finished my portfolio in May 2012 and registered with GDC in June last year. During my course i did not need to sit Key skills (english and maths) as i had been a school within 5 years. Newcastle college have now been taken over by a comany called In Training and they have said that scottish qualification such as standard grades do not count in England anymore and I will now have to sit a function skills assessment or my Modern Apprenticeship certificate will no longer be valid. I have been in touch with BDA, City and guilds and Citizens advice who cant help me.
Who do I contact? And should i have to sit the assessment a year after i qualified!!??
