Hello,
the HTM 01-05 says:
"Intra-oral radiology film and devices used in digital
radiology imaging are potential sources of crossinfection.
Accordingly, where reusable devices are
used, they should be decontaminated in accordance
with the manufacturer’s instructions. For intra-oral
holders, this will require the use of steam
sterilization following washing and disinfection."

I am not sure that alcohol wipes is correct to use but best check with manufacturer.

We did the same.

Use alcohol and totally dry with a tissue then sterilise.
Never had any marks/scratches.

Hi,

I rinse mine to remove debris, wipe with an alcohol wipe, and then wipe to dry and get rid of any streaks using a tissue. I then put in a sterilisation pouch and autoclave it.

Mine have not got any scratches or marks on them.

Hope this helps,
Emma

Hi, can anyone recommend a way for decontamination of intra oral photography mirrors which doesn't scuff or scratch. Ours are autoclaved but are showing lines and scuffs on them, which is spoiling the actual image. Thanks
