Free CPD with PCTs

PCT training evenings/courses are no longer free in worcestershire due to changes in the UDA contracts. It has been explained to me that this priviledge has been built into the monies paid to practice owners and they should in theory pay for your PCT courses. But as with many things in life, this will likely not happen for many of DN's...

I once joined a free CPD course run by my local PCT. It was only for 3 hours CPD but it was worth joining.
I filled in the forms and submitted them to the course leader. I was then told that I would have to pay for the course because I worked in a Private Practice and private dental nurses are paid more than NHS nurses. No way I cried We all need CPD so why should I be penilised just because I work in a Private practice.
I got over this by saying im a tutor and that the knowledge would be advantageuos to my trainees. :(
