Hi Robina,

It says the same in my contract. I think it is a standard thing. I wouldn't worry about it too much as if your practice is anything like most practices all over the country you'll be hard pushed to not have enough work. :)

At my practice we have 8 nurses and 5 dentists, all the nurses have the same thing in their contracts. I am pretty sure it is just standard.

Hi,

I've received my employment contract and there is a section titled Lay Off.
It says if the practice has no work available due to shortage of patients or absence of a dentist that they have the right to lay you off work without pay and I would be eligible for payments up to 5 days in any period of three months.

As this is the first nursing position I have taken in the UK, I wanted to find out if this is a standard condition of employment for dental nurses here?
