Digital Scanning

4 years 4 months ago #9058 by unflappable
iTero informed us any registered GDC dental professional may take scans (we thought perhaps our receptionists could learn as it is basically taking a load of tiny photos which are stitched together into a 3D image but no, this is not allowed).

Training: provided by the manufacturer. Not as easy as you might think. I would say practice plenty of scans on each other before you start on patients.

Insurance... good question!!! Haven't checked this out I as assumed would be covered by my existing cover.

Hi,

Please can someone help advise us regarding digital scanning. At our practice one has just been installed and our clinician wishes the nurses to take the scans on patients. What qualifications or in house training is required? do we need documentation? further cover re: indemnity insurance? is it classed the same as impression taking?

looking forward to any replies.

Thank you.
