Trainee orthodontic therapist

Can someone please advise

I start my orthodontic training course in a matter of weeks and when I took the position within this practice (been here 8 months) I was told I would have to be self employed once qualified -that's fine

I received my new contract today that states I will be self employed as of the start of training. Has this happened to snyone else? I haven't signed anything yet.
