Dental Nurse Assessor jobs

Hi All

I am a qualified dental nurse and Also dental nurse assessor. I am just returning to assessing after a short break and i have been fortunate enough to find a job with a college. However this has taken me months to find and i just wondered why there are so few assessing jobs ?? Also I have recently been contacted by a few different people asking if i can assess 1/2 or a small handful of students and what my price is....I have not come across this before and just wondered if there is a new "trend" of maybe self employed assessors?
