A couple of years ago, my boss started looking into the idea of employing apprentice dental nurses. As we are a specialist practice which offers a high standard of training to general dental practitioners, he wanted to ensure that we were providing the same high standard of training to nurses.

After the recent claims in the press about flossing, I would guess that everyone who is reading this has been busy answering questions on the subject! For those of you who have somehow managed to avoid the news, I will provide a brief recap.

Today’s blog aims to inspire all dental nurses to use their Oral Health Education (OHE) qualification to its full potential. After I completed my OHE qualification in 2014, I wanted to keep using the knowledge and skills that I had worked so hard for.

Once again, it seems to have come around so quickly – the time to declare our CPD logs for the year and to pay the annual retention fee that is required from us in order to remain part of the GDC; this ever-growing professional body working in the UK.
