Returning to nursing after 11 years -issues/questions

2 years 9 months ago #9316 by jenny
Hi. I don't have any answers for you but came across your post and am interested in knowing if you managed to get any answers to your points. I am looking at returning to nursing after 7 years out. Got a vague reply to some of my queries but might make some calls to clarify what I need to do to restore my registration. If I get any useful answers I will let you know.

Hello!
I'm currently employed as a receptionist, however I would very much like to return to dental nursing - I qualified(NEBDN Nat Cert) in 2005, Radiography the year after, and registered with the GDC briefly in 2017, as I've worked on reception off and on since 2008 when I last nursed - however I've found I cannot work in a surgery as a trainee as I am qualified, I need to do quite a bit of CPD in order to reregister, I wondered if anyone else has been through similar and has any advice please? I'm keen to get back into a surgery to 'retrain' but this isn't possible at present!
Also, do any 'retraining/returning' courses exist please?
Thank you in advance!
