The NEBDN-accredited certificate in Oral Health Education course is for registered dental nurses who want to become competent and confident oral health educators and oral health practitioners. This course is an excellent stepping stone for those considering retraining as hygienists. As an oral health dental nurse, you will be trained to provide appropriate oral health advice to a range of patients, identify barriers to good oral health, and create resources for oral health promotion.

Course Assessments
- Unit Quiz: One multiple choice quiz per unit
- Record of Competence:
- A) Assessment of seven patients, four of whom should each be seen twice.
- B) Production of a detailed written case study (word count of 2250–2750 words) for one of the patients.
- C) Completion of an additional project, to include an exhibition demonstrating knowledge of the syllabus and a record of continuing professional development relating to oral health education.
- Final Assessment: Final NEBDN online exam

- Optional drop-in support session classes available.
- One-to-one tutor support is easily accessible by email, telephone, or Zoom.
Examinations
By completing the Dental Nurse Network course, students will be prepared to sit the final NEBDN examination. Exams are held in March and September of each year.
